BuildBonnie'sDream
School Fundraising Initiative

A group of students from Bond University are visiting schools raising awareness and money for Build Bonnie’s Dream. They are asking schools to get involved as it provides a unique opportunity for students to learn about another culture, learn about children's rights, and be empowered by their ability to give back to children less fortunate. The Bond students are working with the schools in many ways;
Junkyard Fashion Exhibition - Embracing and broadening the creativity of students at the schools by encouraging them to turn recycled material, garbage bags, newspaper and other items into the latest fashion fad. Creating stylish dresses out of garbage bags or strapping shirts from newspaper. Parents and friends are then invited to make a gold coin donation as they watch their children parade in exciting creations.
The Cambodian children helped through this initiative live beside rubbish dumpsites, making a living from sorting through the rubbish. This unusual theme is inspired by their living conditions.
Schools will also be hosting out of uniform days calling on gold coin donations and junkyard clothing. Alternatively schools are welcome to fundraise in any way that is possible and appropriate for their school, for example a casual dress day with a gold coin donation will go a long way.
