Bake Sale
Inward Bound Endpoint | 23rd March 2013
The Burgmann Charity Committee baked cookies, muffins, cupcakes and brownies to sell at the ANU inter-hall long distance running and navigating race called Inward Bound. While the runners navigated their way through the gruelling 100km race, the spectators had a much more relaxing time, buying and eating the baked goods we had made with all the profits going towards Bonnie’s Dream.
Back to School Bar Night
Burgmann College | 24th April 2013
Our ‘Back to School Bar Night’ provided us with an excellent opportunity to squeeze into our old primary uniforms, gather for class photos and mingle with our neighbouring college on ANU Campus ‘Burton & Garran Hall’. We raised money through cold coin donations and the sale of refreshments.
Slave Auction
Burgmann College Parents’ Weekend | 11th May 2013
As part of Burgmann’s annual Parents’ Weekend Formal Dinner we held an auction night in association with Burgmann Residents’ Association. The night included one silent auction as well as a ‘Slave Auction’. As part of the ‘Slave Auction’ Burgmann residents kindly allowed themselves to be auctioned off to do certain tasks for other residents for that week. These included cleaning, washing, cooking, being an exercise trainer and even a last minute Mothers’ Day gift shopper. During the evening Sophie Taylor gave a speech sharing her experiences teaching at the school and about her dear friend Bonnie. All the guests really enjoyed hearing about the school as well as watching the brilliant video Jenna had put together of the students!
